either or的用法

either…or…“不是……便是……,或者……或者…….”動詞與臨近的主語保持一致。即 “就近原則”。

Either you or he has to go = Either he or you have to go.

Neither you nor I am right .= Neither I nor you are right.

一、either……or……

either……or……意為"或者……或者……;不是……就是……"之意。表示兩者之一，連接句子中兩個并列的成分。例如：

When the girl is happy， she either sings or dances.那個女孩高興時，不是唱就是跳。(此句中either……or……連接兩個動詞，因為主語是單數(shù)第三人稱，謂語動詞要用其相應的形式。)

either……or……連接兩個主語時，其謂語動詞應與最近的一個主語在人稱和數(shù)上保持一致，這就是我們通常說的"就近原則".例如：

Either you or I am going there tomorrow. 明天要么你去那里，要么我去那里。

注意：如果把上句變成一般疑問句，助動詞形式與主語you保持一致，所以要用are提問，而不是am.例如：

Are either you or I going there tomorrow? 明天是你還是我去那里?

Either you or he has lunch at school. 其一般疑問句應為：Do either you or he have lunch at school? 是你還是他在學校吃午飯?

若要對either……or……句型進行否定時，只需把either……or……換成neither……nor……即可。例如：

Either you or she is good at drawing. 變?yōu)榉穸ň鋺獮椋篘either you nor she is good at drawing. 你和她都不擅長繪畫。

我們還可以單獨使用either，其意為"兩者中的任何一個".例如：

There are many shops on either side of the street. 街道兩邊有許多商店。

或：There are many shops on both sides of the street. 在街道兩邊有許多商店。

either用在否定句的句末，表示"也"的意思。例如：

If you don\'t go there. I won\'t， either. 如果你不去那里，我也不去。

二、neither……nor……

neither……nor……表示"既不……也不……".其含義是否定的，可連接任意兩個并列的成份。例如：

She likes neither butter nor cheese.她既不喜歡黃油也不喜歡乳酪。此句中neither……nor……連接兩個賓語。當neither……nor……連接兩個主語時，也應遵循"就近原則".例如：

Neither dad nor mum is at home today. 今天父母都不在家。

若將neither……nor……句型變?yōu)榭隙ň?，只需把neither……nor……改為both……and……即可，同時謂語動詞必須用復數(shù)形式。例如：

Both dad and mum are at home today. 今天父母都在家。

還可以單獨使用neither作主語，表示"兩者中沒有一個".例如：

Neither of them likes football. 他們倆都不喜歡足球。

neither或nor還有另外一種用法，就是當表達一個人沒有做某事，另一個人也沒做同一類事時，可用neither或nor進行簡略回答，其結構為：Neither / Nor+助動詞 / 情態(tài)動詞 / be動詞+主語。例如：

He doesn\'t go to school by bike. Neither / Nor do I. 他不是騎自行車上學，我也不是。

They didn\'t go to the park yesterday. Neither / Nor did we. 昨天他們沒去公園，我們也沒去。

這是either…or…的用法

1、either…or…主要用于表示選擇，其意為“要么……要么……”，“不是…就是…”，“或者……或者……”，

用于連接兩個性質相同的詞或短語。如：

Either come in or go out. 要么進來，要么出去。

I want to visit either Paris or London. 我想去巴黎或倫敦游覽一下。

Either he did not speak distinctly or I did not hear well. 不是他沒講清楚，就是我沒聽明白。

You can have either this one or that one. 你拿這個或那個都可以。

You must either go at once or wait till tomorrow. 你要么馬上走，要么等到明天。

We can finish the work either this week or next week. 不是這星期就是下星期我們就可完成這項工作。

注意1：either…or…通常應連接兩個相同性質的句子成分，但有時后一成分可能省略與前一成分相同的

詞，若連接兩個成分作主語，謂語動詞通常與其靠近的主語保持一致。如：

Either you or I am to go. 你或我必須有人去。

Either he or you are right. 要么他對，要么你對。

注意2：但在非正式文體中，有時也會一律用復數(shù)謂語。如：

You can either have tea or coffee. 你喝茶也行，喝咖啡也行。

Either you or I am wrong. 不是你錯，就是我錯。

If either David or Janet come, they will want a drink. 大衛(wèi)或珍妮特來的話，是會要喝酒的。

2. either…or…除可連接兩個詞或短語外，有時也可連接兩個句子。如：

Either you must improve your work or I shall dismiss you. 要么你改進工作，要么我就辭退你。

Either you’ll leave this house or I’ll call the police. 你要是不離開這座房子，我就叫**來。

3. either…or…的否定式可以是not either…or…，也可以是neither…nor...如：

He didn’t either write or phone.=He neither wrote nor phoned. 他既沒寫信又沒打電話。

注意，正如不能說either…not 一樣(但可說not…either)，英語習慣上也不說either…or…not，如不能說：

Either he or his wife hasn’t come. 可改為：Neither he nor his wife has come.
